Blog-ember: Life Lessons....

November 1
One of the best lessons life has shown you

Never burn bridges. Ever.

I've learned this time and time again and not always because I have burned bridges, but because I haven't.

As you grow older, it's so important to keep relationships, even if you don't think you need them.

Sometimes it's for selfish reasons (because you want more Arbonne customers).

Sometimes it's for the simple easiness of life (like seeing a could-be-enemy at the playground with their babies and realizing that you are both humans/moms).

Sure there are people that I don't agree with and maybe I didn't like them in high school, but who cares? We are all human. We are all worthy.

This goes along with one of my favorite quotes:

"Always be kinder than necessary. Everyone is fighting a battle of their own."

Happy Friday-eve, all!! Here's to a friendly, fun fall weekend!

I can never write a post that's too serious!

Our Weekend: Football, Cars and Red Sox!!

Friday Night Lights: Pizza and Football Game with Uncle Donnie, Aunt Stacie, Grandpa, Mom and Dad

Saturday: Car Shopping and Chad's Birthday
We had plans to go to IKEA, but we ended up being at car dealerships all. day. long. But, we did end up with a beautiful Jeep Wrangler Unlimited!

How do you keep a toddler entertained in a car dealership? Let him play with all of the pumpkins!

Saturday night, my dad came over to watch Cam, and Chad and I had a mini date/birthday dinner while watching the Red Sox!

Some other random pictures from the weekend:

Happy Birthday to you....

Today is Chad's birthday, and we are doing exactly what he wants: Breakfast, IKEA, lunch with friends, then date night. I threw a surprise birthday dinner for him on Wednesday, so that was our big celebration. Today will be all about him and I couldn't be happier.

Here's to the love of my life, my best friend, my support system, my baby-daddy and my other half. You really do complete me.

Happy Birthday, Baby!!!

5 on Friday: Random Thoughts

This is a totally random list of things I have been wanting to share and links I have been saving. Enjoy my smorgasbord!

1) My New Love

This mascara is my new favorite. It might be a lifer. It doesn't flake off during the day and it actually does make my lashes look way longer!

2) Toddler Apps

Cameron is finally at the stage where he understands directions and cause-and-effect, so when Sara posted these Toddler Apps, I had to check them out! I can't wait to let Cameron try some of these!

3) Someday....

I know that traveling to random places is still far in the future due to family obligations, weddings, etc... but these are some amazing places to keep in mind! (However, we are going to Vegas for my birthday in December - and to see sweet baby Brooklyn. I can hardly contain my excitement for three baby-less nights. I may burst out in tears from missing Cam so much, though!)

4) Revlon - 1; Maybelline - 0

I am, by no means, a make-up pro, but I do know when I use a bad product. I first picked up the Revlon Photoready Airbush Foundation and loved it. It glided right on and you couldn't even tell that I had it on. When I ran out, I picked up the Maybelline version at Walmart and figured it would be the same...I was so wrong. I finally got around to picking up the Revlon version, and it's like night-and-day. I'm hooked.

5) Pictures

I have been totally slacking in the picture-taking department. I didn't many last weekend, and I didn't take a single one from Chad's surprise part on Wednesday!!! Bad girl! However, we had a blast; I just can't share it with you in pictures. :)

Happy Weekend, all!! We are off to IKEA tomorrow and will be celebrating Chad's birthday all weekend with donuts, costumes and lots of cocktails. :)

5 on Friday: Fall Food Essentials

Maybe it's Cameron's age, maybe it's just being older, maybe it's the warmer weather lately, but this fall has been amazing. Simply perfect. We have been able to be outside a ton and have started some really fun traditions that I am already excited to do next year!

1) A Good Fall Beer

I am no beer connoisseur, but I do love me a good fall beer. It can be pumpkin flavored or not, but if it's a fall beer, I will try it.

bon appetit put out a great list of their favorite beers, and I am so happy to see that Shipyard Pumpkinhead is on the list! It is brewed right here in little 'ole Portland, Maine, and it. is. delicious.

Another local brewery is Gritty's, and their "fall" beer isn't pumpkin flavored, but it is oh-so-delicious.

2) Chili

Chad makes a bomb-a** chili that I beg him to cook at least once a week in the fall/winter. It usually coincides with the Patriots game, which works out well. ;) It also ends up being awesome leftovers for lunch and dinner.

this is how I like mine: sour cream, cheese and nacho chips...yum!!

3) Yankee Pot Roast

This is a staple in our house lately...another easy dish with super leftovers!

4) A Hot Drink

Coffee, tea, chai latte, Hot Buttered Rum...pick your poison. I'll have one of each!

5) Pies

I am not a huge pie fan, but gimme a slice after a comfy dinner and it will be gone in 2.2 seconds.

how cute are these mini pies?

What about you? What are your favorite fall foods?

Happy Weekend, Friends!!

What a Weekend!

Friday night was our usual Grandpa Date...this week was Texas Roadhouse. God Bless America. There's not much better than people watching while drinking a beer and chowing on some steak!

After, Chad and I went on a date. Yes, you read that correctly...a date! No baby. Alcohol. A movie. It was bliss. (And Gravity was amaaaazing in 3D.)

Saturday morning, Cameron got a haircut, we hit up Lowe's and Cameron took a 2.5 hour nap!! Holy moly.

before the haircut....I love getting him a "big" boy haircut!

I rarely pull out my "real" camera anymore; it's so much easier to just snap away on my iPhone. But, I've realized that I don't have any printable pictures of Cam - we need some updates in our home! When we planned on heading to a local Fall Festival, I decided to charge up my big girl and have some fun.

However, Cameron had a different idea. He had just woken up from a nap, so he was very mellow the entire time. That's ok, but I got some very sweet, innocent pictures of my baby big boy.

He looooved the hens...we couldn't get him away!

my sweet loves

After our fun Fall Fest, we decided to stop for some Pumpkin Beer at a local brewery that also happens to have a playground and playhouse behind it. Win-win, I tell ya.

(back to the iPhone pics)

Sunday and Monday were Mommy/Cameron days since Chad had to work. We ran errands, had a playdate, had a donut-date and took a two hour nap in the car. :)

breakfast with LouLou...someone LOVED the blueberry muffin!

Sorry for the picture overload, but we did a lot!! I hope you all had a great weekend.....Happy Hump Day!!!!
