Clothes: You are growing like a weed, little boy, but you are too big for 6-12 month bottoms, but too small for 12-18 month bottoms...overalls are a common piece of clothing these days! Your pajamas are 18-24 months and tops are pretty on point with your age, although some 12-18 month tops are still a bit big. You are wearing size 4 shoes. (Sperry's and Adidas are our top picks right now because they don't come off your feet.)
13 Months: 12 teeth
14 Months: 13 teeth
You sign: "eat" and "all done" which works so much better than screaming!
You love: to pick up shoes and give them to their owner.
You say: "thank you" after giving or taking anything from anyone. You say "uh oh" when you drop something and "TOUCHDOWN!" when you throw the football on the ground! You always say "cuh" when you see my coffee cup in the morning, "bah" means ball or balloon, "uh" means you want to be picked up, "wah" is water and "gaga" means everything else, apparently. You also say "hiiiiii" quite frequently, which always puts a smile on our face. You have started saying "shhh" for shoe (apparently, you have an obsession with shoes) and "slll" for slide.
Riding like a "big" boy at Target
You pick up lint/dirt/trash from the floor and hand it to me immediately. (This came after many months of eating everything you found on the floor and realizing it didn't all taste so good!)
When I don't want you to touch/eat something, I say, "yuck, yuck, yuck" and you repeat me!
You repeat and imitate everything we say/do.
You aren't so interested in Baby Einstein anymore. In fact, the only thing that keeps your attention is Seinfeld!
You are still a cuddle bug first thing in the morning. But only first thing in the morning! Otherwise, you don't sit still for more then 2 seconds. Literally.
Hanging out with the big kids at LLBean
We weaned you from your bottle in just a couple of days. We were down to morning and night only then switched to milk from a sippy cup. You weren't thrilled the first night, but were OK in the morning and eventually forgot all about your bottles! Next is the pacifier... (I've been saying that for months now.)
You got your first haircut. I was literally on the verge of tears, but I held back, and you are amazing handsome now! I seriously think your personality changed with your haircut, like you knew it was a big milestone!
You still hate to have your diaper changed and to be dressed/undressed. Bathtime is hit or miss, but new toys have made this time last longer...you are also taking baths with Daddy and showers with both of us!
You came down with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, which allowed me a couple of extra days with you. It didn't seem to bother you at all, but we had to keep socks on your feet and had to sterilize everything you put in your mouth to keep it from coming back. Otherwise, you have been pretty healthy!
You are walking like a champ and rarely crawl now...you've actually been pretty good about not getting into too much and have stopped climbing the stairs alone! You do jam your fingers a lot and there are lots of bumps and bruises, but they hardly faze you.
We've been catering on the weekends, so you've been spending some time with Auntie Sarah, Katrin and Loulou. They keep us posted with lots of pictures and you don't mind the extra attention!
You are turning into a toddler right before our eyes...I am loving this stage. (I think I say that every month.) But, seriously...you're interacting with us, becoming more independent and babbling your little head off. I cannot wait to see how much you grow in the next few months! (I am already so excited for upcoming holidays...eeek!)
I love you with my entire heart and soul, buddy. You are the sweet little boy and you have completely taken over our lives (in an amazing way).
